'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Galbraith continues clash with City.

Ethan Galbraith breaks into a smile as he recalls the nail-biting final moments of his team's epic comeback win against Nottingham Forest in the League Cup. The encounter culminated with Galbraith briefly donning a spectator's eyewear following the post-goal scrum.

During the final moments of stoppage time, Galbraith rattled the woodwork with a long-range effort from 25 yards, and Cameron Burgess quickly slammed home the deflection before charging toward the crowd to celebrate, with supporters swarming the players.

Stunning Reversal

The victory capped an unbelievable comeback given the team had trailed 2-0 during the latter period. During the euphoria, there was some minor mishaps. He shared, "There was a supporter shouting out and we were thinking: 'What's he on about here?' Then we spotted the glasses. It was a bit of banter putting them on. We are on the pitch as athletes but we're people, too, so to have a joke with the fans is always good."

Manchester City Challenge

The victory booked a next round fixture at home against Manchester City on Wednesday, opponents Galbraith pushed hard at the equivalent round of the FA Cup with his former club in February. The athletic midfielder had arguably the best view when the underdogs took the lead in remarkable manner, with a teammate's first-time shot from about way out going in via the bar and the opposition keeper. It feels criminal that it was recorded as an own goal.

"You would have expected they would've awarded it to him for having a go from that far out," stated Galbraith, who began the game centrally before switching to right flank after they changed tactics. That meant competing with Jack Grealish, with whom he exchanged jerseys, and the player was among the Manchester squad who praised the way his former team played positively.

City's Quality

"Fitness-wise they are outstanding but even the basics and simple things, they can just perform consistently," he explains. "It seems as if they complete every delivery and they are adept at dictate and slow down a game. You can feel you're holding your own and then abruptly they will just thread a ball between defenders without you even noticing. You have to be focused throughout of the game. It requires a strong mentality and attention just to remain competitive."

Swansea Move

Swansea were keen on Galbraith in January and beat off competition to bring him in in the summer in a £1.5m deal. He established himself as a crowd pleaser across multiple campaigns at his former club and has swiftly done the same in his new home. At Orient he reunited with his former manager, who previously gave Galbraith his debut prolonged spell in professional games on loan at Doncaster from United. Then came a loan at fourth-tier Salford, before he permanently left Old Trafford.

Development Path

"I was probably a bit naive going into senior level. I think numerous professionals would say development squad matches is completely distinct. Sometimes it feels like the ball is moved without much intensity. There's not many hard challenges. Once you start playing first-team football you have to adjust fast."

International Recognition

He has shown that maturation for his team and nation, excelling for his national side, who are fighting to qualify for the World Cup next summer via the playoffs and for whom he has featured in the recent fixtures, including both legs encounters against the German national team. The ex-coach, Galbraith's previous international manager, paid him the supreme accolade, saying he was Northern Ireland's "little Iniesta or Xavi" given how he handles the football and his knack for a decisive through ball.

Humble Beginnings

This marks a remarkable path for the youngster from the local area in Glengormley, just outside Belfast, who was raised observing his parent, his father, also a central player, play for Ballyclare Comrades.

Red Devils Debut

The player's single match for the Red Devils came in Kazakhstan in 2019, a European competition trip to the Kazakh capital, where they featured on an artificial pitch and the arena covering was shut owing to the weather of bitter cold. "That proved to be a long trip and it was chilly," he recalls, grinning. "The preceding week, several youth players and I worked out jointly, so that aided our adjustment. Just to accompany the senior squad and earn some playing time at the end was amazing."

Departing Old Trafford

How difficult was it to move on from Old Trafford, the club he joined from Linfield aged a teenager? "The decision proved fairly simple, because I arrived at the moment where I knew I wasn't going to make it at the senior squad. I'm very appreciative for the time I spent there but it became apparent where I believed I required a fresh start, join a smaller club and play men's football. Now I'm gradually climbing the ladder."

Welsh Adaptation

It is mid-afternoon at the team's practice facility but Galbraith has a commitment at the early evening: a driving theory test, another move in the direction of getting on the road. Prior to relocating to Sketty, the mid-twenties player was a constant rider in Swansea's so-called team minibus, a team vehicle driven by academy staff, the transport team, which transports players to and from practice and games.

"It's myself Gonçalo Franco, Ronald, an Ivorian player – the Swedish defender used to be in it but has started driving. It's pleasant to interact with the guys but I'm planning to be the next one to drive independently and behind the wheel. Franco likes to pull a few pranks; he's constantly causing mischief."

Public Engagement

When he represented Orient, Galbraith would blend in with followers on London's Central line after starting his journey at his base. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
